Mauritius Officially Withdrawn from The List of High-Risk Third Countries of The European Commission
Following the adoption of COMMISSION DELEGATED REGULATION (EU) 2022/229 by the European Parliament, the delisting of Mauritius has been formalised by the publication of the updated list of "High Risk Third Countries" in the Official Journal of the European Union (L39 - https://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/TXT/?uri=OJ:L:2022:039:TOC) on the 21st of February 2022.
The European Commission has acknowledged that Mauritius has strengthened the effectiveness of its anti - money laundering and counter-terrorism financing (AML/CFT) mechanisms and “has established legal and regulatory framework to meet the commitments in their action plans regarding the strategic deficiencies that the FATF had identified”.
