The Hon. Minister Mahen Seeruttun participated in a High-Level Roundtable Discussion in the Global Forum on Illicit Financial Flows and Sustainable Development on 28 September 2022. The discussions which took place virtually was organised by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in collaboration with the German Agency for International Cooperation.
The Global Forum brought together standards setters, practitioners, civil society, private and public sector representatives to elaborate on how to create a conducive ecosystem to allow an effective, coherent and development-oriented fights against Illicit Financial Flows.
The Hon. Minister intervened on the policy measures adopted for the delisting of Mauritius from the FATF Grey List ahead of the set timeline. He also elaborated on the importance of establishing effective cooperation arrangements domestically and internationally to fight against illicit financial flows.
The participation of the Hon. Minister in this international forum demonstrates the underlying commitments of Mauritius to work together with the Global Community to combat illicit financial flows.
