This Tuesday, December 3, 2024, Dr the Hon. Jyoti Jeetun was invited as keynote speaker at the event "Beyond Business as Usual: The Climate Roundtable", organized by the Climate Governance Initiative Mauritius (CGI Mauritius) in collaboration with HSBC Mauritius, Mauritius Institute of Directors (MIoD) and the British High Commission UK in Mauritius.

The event provided an opportunity to exchange with leaders and experts on climate challenges affecting our island.

The Honorable Minister of Financial Services and Economic Planning highlighted that : “As a new Government and as the Minister of Financial Services and Economic Planning, I can confirm that climate change will be on top of our agenda. It is important that we acknowledge the urgency of today in order to plan and prepare for tomorrow.

Given the criticality of the issues, we will devise a roadmap to prepare the country, its people and the businesses to be ready. We need to ensure that both the public and our private operators are aligned in terms of a shared vision.

To achieve this and create a more sustainable future, we will require the right policies, the right governance framework and the right execution plan.”
